When it comes to honouring the memory of a loved one, many families are now choosing a Direct Cremation as a modern and affordable alternative to a traditional full-service funeral. As an independent family-run business, we can provide Direct Cremations using local crematoriums in Cornwall and Devon.
Our teams in Bude, Camelford, Launceston and Holsworthy, will handle every aspect of the Direct Cremation for you.
From the conveyance of your loved one to our chapel of rest, provision of a simple coffin, arrangement of all necessary paperwork, and transportation to a local crematorium.
With our services, you can rest assured that your loved one will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. We’re here to support you every step of the way during this difficult time.
What is a direct cremation?
A Direct Cremation is when we bring someone who has died, into our care in Bude, Camelford, Launceston or Holsworthy, and provide a simple, unattended cremation. There is no service which means you can say goodbye in your own way. Many families choose to hold a separate special event or celebration to honour the life of their loved one.
These simple, no-service cremations remove the need for a minister, procession, or limousines—helping to keep costs down. However, this does not mean that any corners have been cut, or that the care provided to you and your loved one falls short of our usual high standards.
Is a direct cremation right for you?
A simple cremation without a ceremony is a good idea if you’re wanting to save costs or want to avoid the formality of a funeral service. They are also a good option if the person who passed away didn’t want a lot of fuss.
A Direct Cremation typically takes place outside of peak crematorium hours which allows for it to take place sooner. This gives families closure much faster and therefore more time to focus on healing.
What does a direct cremation include?
A direct cremation includes everything you need for an unattended funeral:
- Organising the necessary paperwork required for a cremation
- Collecting your loved one and looking after them until the day of the funeral
- A simple coffin
- Transportation to the crematorium in the funeral vehicle
- Scattering of ashes in the gardens of remembrance or the safe return of ashes to the family
Why choose us?
Many national providers use a single crematorium, often many miles away and deal with families through call centres, or online. Choosing us for your Direct Cremation means you will be looked after locally by our teams in Bude, Camelford, Launceston or Holsworthy. We can also offer the choice of local crematoria in Cornwall or Devon.
Our Direct Cremation costs are comparable to national companies, but with a much more personal service. We’re trusted by local families to provide the highest standards of care and dignity—whatever type of service you choose.
To give you more flexibility we have two options ‘Dove’ and ‘Butterfly’ to choose from.
