What To Do When
When someone passes away it can be a difficult
When someone dies at home or in a nursing home the first contact should be with the person’s doctor who, if satisfied with the cause of death, will issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death.
In some cases you may be asked to collect the certificate from the surgery. In the case of a nursing home death, their staff should liaise with the doctor.
Contact us after you have informed the doctor.
When you meet with us we will be able to advise you on what to do next, take care of all the necessary funeral arrangements and explain, in detail, the procedure for registering the death.
If the person has died away from home or abroad, we can make all the necessary arrangements to repatriate your loved one.
When Someone Dies in Hospital or in a Hospice
When someone dies in hospital, staff will arrange for a doctor to issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death which you will usually need to collect, along with any belongings, from the hospital.
If the funeral is to be a cremation, please advise the hospital staff so they can make arrangements for any additional documentation that is needed.
Contact us as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements to bring your loved one back into our care.
Looking after you is always our main priority
